Optimism is the faith that leads to achievement. Nothing can be done without hope and confidence. - Helen Keller
Inspirational quote of the day by Helen Keller.
Hope is the belief that a better tomorrow is possible. When things don't go your way, hope is the light that will guide you through those difficult times.
Life is not static; it is always changing, and your present difficult circumstances will not always remain. Be optimistic about that fact, and maintain a positive outlook by looking on the bright side of things.
Trust in yourself and your abilities, and improve your knowledge and skills every chance you get. A better you leads to a better future.
Helen Keller (1880-1968) was an author and disability rights advocate. She lost both her sight and hearing due to illness when she was 19 months old and learned to communicate by spelling words on her hand.
Despite her disabilities, Helen was determined to go to college. She enrolled in Radcliffe College and obtained her Bachelor of Arts degree cum laude in 1904, the first deaf-blind person to do so.
Helen was also a writer and published 14 books and over 475 speeches and essays on various topics. She toured the world, visited 35 countries, and met with world leaders such as Winston Churchill.
In 1948 she was sent to Japan as America's first Goodwill Ambassador. Her visit was a huge success and millions of Japanese came to see her.
She received honorary degrees from universities in the United States, Europe, India and South Africa.
Helen's life embodies this quote, and her optimism and courage have inspired people all over the world, especially those with disabilities.
