Start doing what's necessary, then do what's possible, and suddenly, you are doing the impossible! - Saint Francis Of Assisi
Inspirational quote of the day by Saint Francis of Assisi.
It's easy to become overwhelmed by the enormity of our goals and dreams. "It's just too much for me to handle. I can't do it. It's impossible." are thoughts that often creep into our minds.
Do not be discouraged. Imagine your goal as a light at the top of a very large staircase.
Break down your goal into many smaller, achievable tasks, each representing a step on the staircase, with the most necessary steps at the bottom of the staircase.
Then, focus just on the step that is right in front of you. Put all your effort into just completing that single task. Once that task is completed, you have in effect taken a step up on the staircase.
Keep taking these small steps with persistence and patience, and you will eventually achieve what you initially considered impossible.
Saint Francis (1181-1226) was born in Assisi Italy to a wealthy cloth merchant. His mission to rebuild the church started by doing what he deemed necessary; he gave up his wealth and privilege and lived a life of simplicity. He did what is possible by founding the Franciscan order and preaching to the poor. Over time his church grew and he achieved what he initially deemed impossible; he built bridges between different faiths and promoted peace and understanding.
